OUR MISSION
The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame aim to promote and foster the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, competitive spirit, and a commitment to academic excellence in young men and women through the positive influence of amateur football.
Each year, the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame honors a select group of individuals with awards for their excellence in scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. The Foundation also acknowledges those who have shown exceptional support for the NFF and its mission of promoting amateur football.
Seven U.S. presidents, numerous military, business, and community leaders, and hundreds of football officials and scholar-athletes from various levels have received these highly regarded awards.
Each year, the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame honors at least 50 high school senior scholar-athletes from the Los Angeles City Schools Section and the Southern Section of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). These outstanding young men and women not only excel in the classroom and on the football field but also give back to their communities through various volunteer efforts. These efforts include assisting the elderly, providing patient care in hospitals, and coaching aspiring football players in leagues and clinics.
The chapter hosts an annual dinner to formally recognize the achievements of these scholar-athletes. During this event, selected individuals receive financial aid to support their continued education, helping them become intelligent, thoughtful, and responsible leaders in their communities. Additionally, the chapter aims to provide financial assistance to local high school athletic departments for trainer activities, counseling offices, and library operations.
