Vince Gratzer is a graduate of Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York where he received a bachelor’s degree in history.  He then became a special education teacher for the Rochester, New York school district from 1974 – 1979.  After that time he began his film career as a historical consultant and marketing director for John Sayles on the films Matewan and Eight Men Out.  He later joined the Marketing Firm Baldwin, Varela, & Company in 1990 as the Director of Client Services.

 

Vince has worked with writers and directors on the following projects:

 

Norman Jewison in Other People’s Money, Stephen Frears on The Grifters and Robert Altman on The Player. He was the historical consultant for Topgallant productions working with producer Catherine Wyler on Memphis Belle and director Louis Malle for a proposed film on Geronimo. He provided historical research for writer Robert King, author of Cutthroat Island and Red Corner.

 

In 2005 Vince founded Las Cruces Productions and is director of research and development for feature films projects. He is currently developing the project The School That Fell From the Sky concerning the life of a World War II pilot and hero, Fred Hargesheimer.
